Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas (BBBSCC) is looking for a Grant Manager to join our team in our Charlotte, NC office.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about securing and managing funding that supports our mission to ignite the power and promise of youth. The Grant Manager will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and stewarding grants from foundations, corporations, and government entities. Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with BBBSCC’s strategic and programmatic needs.
Develop and implement a comprehensive grant plan, including timelines, submission schedules, and reporting deadlines.
Write and submit compelling letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and performance reports.
Maintain and track all grant activity using our CRM or grant tracking system.
Collaborate with the Director of Development, CEO, and program staff to ensure proposal accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
Steward relationships with funders through site visits, thank-you communications, updates, and impact stories.
Monitor and analyze trends in philanthropy, especially in youth mentoring, equity, and education sectors.
Translate program data, stories, and outcomes into persuasive grant content.
Ensure compliance with funder requirements, including timely reporting and follow-up.
Work collaboratively across departments to ensure commitments are met and programs are delivering promised outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A minimum Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in nonprofit management, communications, English, public administration, or a related field.
At least three years of relevant experience in grant writing, grant management, or development.
Proven success in securing grants of six and seven figures from private, corporate, and government sources
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clearly, persuasively, and technically.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Experience building and stewarding relationships with funders and stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and donor databases (CRM experience preferred).
High degree of integrity and alignment with the mission of BBBSCC.
Knowledge of trends in youth development, education, and nonprofit funding.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Hybrid home/office environment. This position is located in our Charlotte office.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
Must be able to move about inside the office to collaborate with staff and leadership.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment (computer, copier, printer).
Must be able to lift office supplies and equipment up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time for funder meetings or site visits.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet state-required insurance minimums.
